Participants will receive an overview of early writing skill development and conventions of print knowledge (including print knowledge, concepts of print and book knowledge)in late toddlers and preschoolers. Participants will receive many easy to use ideas for facilitating and fostering writing development and a complete book knowledge activity to implement in their classroom play centers and group activities.

Participants will identify the developmental levels of early writing.
Participants will determine how to integrate early writing and group writing activities into everyday classroom programming.
Participants will develop a set of activity cards to be used with appropriate children's literature to teach and later assess student's knowledge of print conventions.
