This training provides participants with ample information regarding second language acquisition for dual language learners in today’s early childhood settings. Three components included in this training are: research studies around second language acquisition, second language learning milestones and individual differences, and a meaningful learning environment through daily activities that supports the development of the dual language and all children. Supportive techniques that teachers can use in their classroom will be shared. Many opportunities and research studies are embedded in this training that will empower the participants to challenge themselves and engage in critical thinking and reflection. Effective teaching dispositions for dual language learners will be cultivated through scaffolding and responsive discussion.
