It's a Musical World: Integrating Music Throughout the Environment

Event Description

Music, nursery rhymes, and finger plays have always been staples of early childhood classrooms. Over the years, music in the early childhood classroom has ventured far beyond the simple tunes and finger plays of "Itsy Bitsy Spider" and "The Wheels on the Bus." This workshop will consider the importance of music for young children, discuss the three main ways to integrate music into the classroom, and offer suggestions for resources to enhance the musical experience, develop an appreciation for music in a variety of forms, and foster cognitive abilities, social interaction, and musical competence. NOTE: This training was previously titled "Drum Roll Please: Music in the Early Childhood Classroom" for SUTQ approval; the new title is for the Ohio Approved version.
