Participants will be able to discuss the history of Yoga and Pilates, the research that supports using Yoga and Pilates with kids, the benefits, and the components of an after school Yoga and/or Pilates program. In addition, participants will be albe to discuss how an after school Yoga and/or Pilates program aligns with the Ohio Academic Content Standards in physical education.
Participants will be able to identify unique considerations and safety guidelines for after school Yoga and Pilates for kids, Yoga and Pilates equipment/products for kids and observe an after school Pilates video.
Identifies ways to support a healthy environment including addressing physical activity, healthy habits and a balance of active and quiet periods in the daily schedule.
