The Social-Emotional Field Guide: Observation & Assessment


Event Description

In addition to being part of the ongoing cycle of teaching/caregiving for every child, observation and assessment also critical to responding effectively when a child’s behavior signals that something needs to be looked at closer. Every early childhood professional who desires to become skilled at understanding, guiding and managing children’ s behavior must commit to learning the knowledge and skills involved in observation and assessment. Come to this session to learn how to design a practical, useful system for collecting child observation information. Learn strategies for using this information to inform curriculum planning as well as support children’s grown and development. This session is recommended as the third session of the Social Emotion Field Guide training series.
