This a blended course; CPR & BASIC FIRST AID Classroom components are all completed online any time prior to the pre-scheduled 60-Minute skills session. This 60-minute skills session is being held in our Training Center in Worthington, Ohio. Objective:

Student will be able to recognize the need for emergency action, determine the need for CPR and perform the steps needed to resuscitate victims of all ages in the out of hospital setting using Chest Compressions and Rescue Breathing techniques

Student will understand the science behind the Automated Electronic Defibrillator (AED), Be able to identify the need for use in the unconscious pulseless and apneic patient, Student will understand the proper application of the device including safety procedures for rescuers and victims. Students will understand special circumstances and recognition of these problems as well as how to handle the situation as prescribed by the AHA guidelines

Learner Objective:

Student will be placed into scenario based mock emergencies with other students as first aid teams. Student will perform learned skills, using first aid equipment. After mitigation of the mock emergency a review of the positive and negative implications of treatments.
